Shield Yourself from Free Radicals

If a person does not eat a healthy diet, then he is more prone to sickness. With the pressing issues on the financial crisis, more people will surely give up on buying foods that are not very affordable. Consumers will definitely cut low on expensive fruits and other fortified foods. But that does not necessarily mean the end of having a good and healthy lifestyle. Clients are now up to taking in nutrition supplements to maintain good health because they could still get their needed vitamins and minerals in the form of pills.

The normal calorie intake is 1200 a day. If you are lactose intolerant, a strict vegetarian, a pregnant woman, smoker, alcoholic, and if you belong to the elderly and sick then most probably you must take in dietary supplements to fill in the deficiency you have. The vitamins and minerals found in these supplements are however not a replacement of food. It could not take the place of the proper diet that we must have regularly.

Maintaining a healthy body is very vital in this day and age where we are more exposed to a more harmful environment. The free radicals present in foods with preservatives can damage the cells in our body. They are harmful molecules that take an electron from our cell because they have uneven numbers of electrons in them. That will then damage the cell. If antioxidants are present in food supplements then the free radicals could be neutralized and hence will not deteriorate the cell.
